The new run of “The X-Files” may well, in time, encompass some more up-to-date conspiracies. That it was a fiction created by the government for its political purposes. Agents later investigate a case involving alien biology injected into Wisconsin teens, and once again they encounter Deep. government by real-life conspiracy theorists-one of the latest claims is that the 2012 murder of 20 schoolchildren at Sandy Hook Elementary School never occurred. One of the series’s most heart-wrenching episodes, this 1997 story introduced Scully’s aggressive cancer diagnosis, which would become a recurring plot point throughout the rest of the series. The X-Files are back for a highly anticipated 6-episode mini-series, set 14 years after the X-Files closes, featuring our favorite alien hunters and conspiracy theorists.
